For 20 years during the 1970s and 80s, Ladeira da Nora served as our fabulous family home with its extensive gardens, large pool and proximity to the beach.  It played host to countless friends and family who spent their holidays with us in the Algarve.

We bought the property in 1967 after substantial travels in the Middle East and Latin America, when Alvor was a small fishing village with a collection of local farmsteads connected via narrow dusty lanes. Situated on a rising hill covered with almond, olive and fig trees, Ladeira de Nora was one of those small farmsteads overlooking the Alvor river estuary with its plethora of migratory birds passing through.

Ladeira da Nora retains its original charm to this day with the grounds and views practically unchanged over 50 years. Alvor itself remains a quaint fishing village but with the added benefit of modern amenities such as good restaurants, bars and local supermarkets, not to mention golf clubs, tennis clubs and shopping facilities nearby.

We welcome you to our home and hope to make your holiday a memorable one.
